Alburnus Albidus

Alburnus albidus, also called the white bleeding-heart, is a species of freshwater fish that may be found in Croatia's rivers and lakes.

The white bleeding-heart is characterized by its characteristic silver colour, white belly, and crimson spots on either side of its body, which give it the appearance of a "bleeding heart." Adults of this little fish can grow to be up to 15 centimeters long on average. It is a shoaling fish that consumes various tiny invertebrates, including insects and crabs.

Although not listed as an endangered species, the white bleeding-heart fish can suffer from pollution and habitat loss, just like many other freshwater fish species. Implementing policies to cut pollution and preserve healthy freshwater habitats are part of conservation efforts to safeguard the species.
