Hippolais caligata
Hippolais caligata, also known as the Booted Warbler, is a small migratory bird species occasionally found in Croatia during migration.
It is recognized by its pale plumage, distinctive boot-like markings on its legs, and its melodic, varied song. The Booted Warbler prefers open areas with scattered trees and shrubs, where it feeds on insects.
While more common in Eastern Europe, sightings of this bird in Croatia highlight the country's importance as a stopover site for migratory species, reinforcing the need to protect natural habitats.
