Locustella fluviatilis

Locustella fluviatilis, commonly known as the River Warbler, is a small and elusive passerine bird found across parts of Europe, including Croatia.

This bird is recognized by its characteristic "reeling" song, a long, mechanical trill, which it often sings from dense undergrowth or near water sources such as rivers and wetlands. With its brownish-grey plumage and streaked appearance, it blends seamlessly into its environment, making it difficult to spot.

In Croatia, the River Warbler adds to the rich diversity of wetland species, thriving in areas where dense vegetation provides both shelter and abundant insect prey.
