Phoxinellus Ghetaldii

In Croatia, there are numerous freshwater fish species, including Phoxinellus ghetaldii.

It goes by the names Dalmatian longbarbel gudgeon and Dalmatian long-snouted gudgeon, and like the other two species in the Phoxinellus genus, it belongs to the Cyprinidae family.

In the Dalmatian region's karstic rivers and streams, particularly the Cetina River and its tributaries, this species can be found. It is endemic to Croatia. It is an invertebrate-eating fish that normally grows to a length of 6 to 8 cm.

The Dalmatian longbarbel gudgeon is threatened by habitat loss, pollution, and overfishing, same like the other two species of the Phoxinellus genus that are present in Croatia.
