Phylloscopus bonelli
Phylloscopus bonelli, commonly known as Bonelli's Warbler, is a small migratory bird that can be found in various parts of southern Europe, including Croatia, during the breeding season.
It inhabits open woodlands, especially areas with oak and pine trees. Characterized by its olive-green upperparts and whitish underparts, Bonelli's Warbler is known for its distinctive song, a series of short, high-pitched trills.
This species plays an essential role in maintaining insect populations as it feeds mainly on small insects and their larvae. In Croatia, the conservation of suitable habitats for this warbler is important for sustaining its population.
