Salmothymus Obtusirostris Oxyrhinchus

Salmothymus obtusirostris oxyrhinchus was recorded in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

There it enters the tributaries Rakitnica, Rama, Trebi`at, Buna, Bunica and Bregava from the Neretva.

In Croatia, it inhabits the Neretva basin and the Vrlika river. It has a very narrow area, so any change or destruction of the habitat threatens it.

Eutrophication, land reclamation, overfishing, introduction of non-native fish and construction of dams on rivers are particularly at risk.
