Phoxinellus Jadovensis

Phoxinellus jadovensis is an endemic species for Croatia.

It was recorded in Lika's watercourses, the river Jadovi near the villages of Ploče and Vrebac, and older literature also mentions the Balotin and Japoga streams.

As it is a newly described species, it is not included in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.

However, according to the opinion of European ichthyologists, and based on the state of populations and distribution area, the proposed endangered status on the latest red lists will be in the category of critically endangered species.
