Larus genei

Larus genei, commonly known as the Slender-billed Gull, is an elegant bird species found in coastal areas of Croatia.

Recognized by its slender and slightly upturned bill, these gulls have a distinct appearance with pale gray plumage, black wingtips, and bright red legs. They are skilled hunters, often seen diving for fish, mollusks, and other aquatic prey along the shoreline. Slender-billed Gulls typically nest in colonies on sandy beaches or coastal islands, making them vulnerable to disturbances and habitat loss.

Conservation efforts in Croatia are crucial for protecting their nesting sites and ensuring sustainable coastal ecosystems.
