Sylvia curruca

Sylvia curruca, also known as the Lesser Whitethroat, is a small migratory bird commonly found in Croatia during its breeding season.

Characterised by its greyish head, white underparts, and distinctively short tail, it inhabits shrublands, woodlands, and hedgerows. The Lesser Whitethroat feeds primarily on insects and spiders, though it also consumes berries in the autumn.

This species contributes to Croatia's diverse avifauna and is a vital part of the local ecosystem. Protecting its breeding and feeding habitats is essential to maintaining the ecological balance in the region.
