Chalcalburnus Chalcoides
Freshwater fish species Chalcalburnus chalcoides, sometimes referred to as the Danube bleak, are indigenous to the Danube River basin, which includes Croatia. This species is referred to as "papuica" in Croatia.
In Croatia, rivers, streams, and lakes are just a few of the freshwater habitats where Chalcalburnus chalcoides can be found. These fish favor water that is moving quickly and has a rough or gravelly bottom. They consume a variety of foods, such as algae, insects, and crustaceans, as they are omnivorous.
