Phylloscopus collybita

Phylloscopus collybita, commonly known as the Common Chiffchaff, is a small migratory bird that breeds in Croatia and across Europe.

It is easily recognized by its repetitive "chiff-chaff" song, from which it gets its name. This species prefers woodlands, especially those with dense undergrowth, but can also be found in parks and gardens. The chiffchaff feeds primarily on insects and other invertebrates, making it an important species for pest control.

Its olive-brown upperparts and paler underparts help it blend into its environment, making it somewhat inconspicuous despite its frequent vocalizations. Protecting its habitats is key to ensuring its continued presence in the region.
