Umbra Krameri
A small species of freshwater fish called Umbra krameri, also called the eastern mudminnow, is found in Croatia and other countries in eastern Europe.
The eastern mudminnow often lives in slow-moving streams with muddy bottoms and shallow, weedy ponds. It features a characteristic elongated body form, a back that is brownish-green, silvery sides, and black dots. It is a carnivorous fish that consumes tiny invertebrates like crabs and insect larvae.
The eastern mudminnow, like many other freshwater fish species, can be harmed by pollution and habitat loss even though it is not listed an endangered species. The establishment of protected areas, the adoption of strategies to minimize pollution, and the maintenance of healthy freshwater habitats are all part of conservation efforts to safeguard the species.
